Good Morning!

Last night was another tennis lesson, and I have to admit, I’m having a lot of fun with this sport. It certainly doesn’t come naturally to me, but somehow, I really do like it pretty well. I’m in a beginners class, and last night, the truth came out about my other classmates. I am the only REAL beginner of the bunch. It had been showing for the past couple of lessons as the former high school, college, and social tennis players got back in their grooves. They consistently hit shots that I only managed once through the night. I’m not upset AT ALL at being a beginner! Not even a little bit! But it can be disheartening to be the flat out worst in the class, particularly when the other classmates aren’t really beginners at all. Due to the majority of the class’ skill level, I’m also probably not getting a true “beginners class” experience… since that would be dreadfully slow for everyone else. I like the coach though, and I’m currently debating signing up for the next session.

I’m considering it, especially since coach told the rest of the gang tonight that if they sign up again, they should sign up for intermediate… (Coach was very kind when he told me-only me- that if I sign up again, I should retake the beginners class) I’m actually looking forward to taking classes again, and maybe having more opportunities to improve my skills. :)

In other news, There was a mosquito in my car on Wednesday morning. I spent the entire drive in a panic, looking all around, afraid of getting eaten alive. Slowly, fearfully, as I felt feather-lite pressure on my hand, I looked down, AND THAT LITTLE BASTARD HAD ALREADY GOTTEN ME TWICE! The nerve of that guy.

Some mosquitos have REALLY bad attitudes.

Today was a WONDERFUL birthday!
I was less than thrilled about my birthday and turning 26, but today ended up being pretty much AWESOME!

My two best girls made me cake! (funfetti!) and I even got an order of birthday tots!

I felt cute today, wearing my tall winter boots and my very first pair of skinny jeans (which I still declare as for-tall-boot-bunch-resistant-wear only. I will not be one of those inverted pyramid skinny jeans girls in skinny jeans. Scouts honor.

Anyway, I don’t have a lot to say today, so I’ll make it snappy, but I wanted to thank all of you for the birthday wishes!

I’ll talk to you soon!

rocktober challenge day 13: Yoga 30 minutes

I have to admit, I am LOVING fall.

I am loving all of the decorations, and I’ve even made some of my own!

Inspired by these which I read about in google reader via here, I made these little gems!

I’ll post another picture when they’re all lit up! But they are soooooooooo cute! The paper really adds to the pumpkin design, and they glow beautifully. :D

Please notice that my jack-o-lanterns do not have bad teeth…. I think I’ve made my point on that matter… haha.

In other pumpkin news, I found THIS shampoo and conditioner in the clearance bin at the grocery store for half off!! It smells soooooo good! I love lathering up with it, because it makes me smell like pie. mmmmmmm…. me pie.

I won’t lie. I also could not resist buying a can of pumpkin and making my less-guilt-filled pumpkin dip… The guilty kind has cream cheese in it, and really is freaking good. This time, I just added molases, spices, and some vanilla. While I have to admit, I make a damn fine gingerbread cookie, I just went with some store bought gingersnaps, and dug in.  YUM.

And then, of course, is my constant quest for the best pumpkin beer. Let me tell ya… I had the most awesome pumpkin beer once, years ago, and since then, my searching has been fruitless. The Jack’s pumpkin spice ale was lame, unfortunately. However, the Buffalo Bill’s pumpkin ale is pretty dang good. Yummmmmmy.

Last but not least, when I wake in the morning, it will be my 26th birthday… wow. don’t know what to do with that information actually…

rocktober update: I essentially took a week off due to my bronchitis, so, I will tack another week onto the end of the month.

rocktober challenge day 12: 45 minutes tennis lessons

I’m tired of coughing.

I mean, really.

It is getting oooolllllllldddddddd. Anyway, other than the coughing, I’m feeling much better, and I’m ready to be able to breathe correctly again. Luckily, I’m flu free, so I just want to continue to get well as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, this means that I’m 2 days down on Rocktober. Tomorrow, I’m hoping to push it a bit, and see what happens if I go on a walk or something. Breathing shouldn’t be this hard. :D

I’m still holding out hope that I’ll be able to run the 5k on Saturday (that I am SO looking forward to), though who knows if I’ll be breathing properly by then. I would love to write a great, meaningful post for you, but I can’t, because my brain is still a little fuzzy. ;)

Here is a pretty flower from Spain to make you smile. :D

Almost the weekend now! We can make it!

Good evening everyone! I missed monday and tuesday of work this week due to this crazy SICKNESS that attacked me! I went to the doctor today and thankfully, it isn’t the flu! Even so, I’m pretty dang sick, and I’m definitely ready to feel better. I also seem to have passed a bit of illness on to my sweety, so I’m hoping he doesn’t get worse too.

Anyway, I wanted to write that the doc told me to avoid any physical activity for a full day to let my lungs recover, so I’m officially going to miss a day of the ROCKTOBER challenge. Oh well, I’m hoping that I’ll kick it into high gear as soon as I’m all better. :D

I’ll be doing a site update in the near future, so be on the lookout for those site changes! :D
