I’ve faked a British accent in a professional setting
Haha… when I remembered this one, I laughed so hard. I was in the Summer after my senior year of high school, I think, and I found a job in an outbound sales call center, peddling alumni directories.
I HATED IT. It was such a horrible, horrible job for me.
Anyway, It was my job to cold call people, and try to convince them that they needed an alumni phone directory. And after striking out, for the first 2 days, I decided to try my theory that Americans are obsessed with British accents, and they’d listen to one say just about anything.
So, I started calling around… “ello, I’m ‘ere trying to sell you a bloody phone book!” (Well, not exactly those words, but you get the picture”

I have to admit, my British accent is pretty good, when I’m concentrating, but the most hilarious moment of the day, came when on my 70,000,000th call of the day, who answered, but a lady. A lady who listened to my spiel, and then proceeded to reply in HER ACTUALLY BRITISH ACCENT!
Ohmygod, ohmygod, ohmygod. She proceeded to ask me where I was from, and I told her that I had lived in the US since I was 7, but was born outside of WALES.
BAAAAAAAAAHHAHAAAA.
Also, please note, that I totally made 800% more sales as a British girl.
I’ve thrown up in front of my students
I sometimes get REALLY, REALLY sick during my monthlies. And during my first year of teaching, it came over me like a hurricane, and I was in front of my class when I realized I was going to both pass out, and probably barf all over the place.
I sat down, grabbed the trash can, and told the kids not to freak out, and not to panic, but to call the nurse if I BLAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
One asked “permission” while I heaved to fetch me a bottle of water, and another offered to hold my hair.
I’d never been so proud to be their teacher. <3
I’ve held a tiger cub
Around 7 years ago, or so, Daron and I went to a movie, in Grapevine, and when we came out… there was this Big Cats awareness group there, who was showing some of their big cats that’ had been rehabilitated, and was trying to raise money.
So, for a donation, we got to HOLD A TIGER CUB!!
It was sooooooooooo cute, and it absolutely seemed like a big kitty cat. I remember how adorable it was, and how loudly it purred when we rubbed it behind its ears.
Please check out the rest of my list! (vol. 1, vol. 2)
Have a GREAT weekend, everyone!

OMG! I DID THIS TOO! I sold a grocery service over the phone and made so much freaking money in 3 months all thanks to my snazzy British accent! This totally made my day! HA!
