KelseyToney.com, (the online home of KelsNotChels) as you see it now, is the 5th or 6th incarnation of my website. Previously, it was a site dedicated to my musical “career”.

I might have made it… but boy, am I glad I didn’t. :) In my late teens, I found moderate success, locally and regionally as a singer/songwriter, but now, I’m a teacher… who loves to sing. Life is much better this way.

As I have changed and refocused my energies, I decided that it would be far more beneficial for me to have an all around blog, than to have a page dedicated to, what is now, only a small part of me.

Additionally, my “one hit wonder” song called “After Today” which I wrote in tribute to the lives lost in the United States and abroad on September 11, 2001, can be downloaded from the music page of this site.

I’m a 20-something, married, cat-mommy of 2, living in north Texas. From 2007-2009 I studied at the University of North Texas under Dr. Lyndal Bullock, an expert in all things Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (E/BD) within the field of Special Education. In August of 2009, I completed my Masters of Education in Special Education. My major is Transition Specialist for Adolescents with E/BD. I love working in a self-contained special education classroom, where I help kids learn how to deal with life…even when theirs are often so very tough. My job is my passion, and I have fallen in love with this population of students. They are often misunderstood, under-loved, and under estimated. It is my belief that “Every child deserves a ‘special education’.”

But, I’m not all seriousness. I love reading, movies, hanging out with friends, baking, and sudoku. :)

Therefore, you will find images, words, songs, and all sorts of other things on this site that make me who I am. Enjoy.

  1. Hi! Love your site and take on life. I’m a school psychologist and work with juvenile offenders so I know exactly what your talking about when it comes to needing equal education for all students. Excited to follow you and hear your thoughts on life!
