Happy Wednesday!

Today, I have a few more items for my Life Well Lived list! A LWL list is a list that you can use to keep a list of highlights of your life. I’m sure if you think about it, there are some things in your life that are completely unique, or at least very FEW people have done. THAT’s what the list is about. Open-mouthed smile

So, without further adieu, let me tell you a few more of the beautiful things that make this life perfectly, and wonderfully lived.

I’ve married my best friend (on a mountain top, with two rainbows overhead, and a double sunset.)

I know, I know… “My wedding was the best EVER”, “My wedding was so perfect, I’m sure it was the most gorgeous one ever” But seriously guys… Red rock mountains in Sedona, AZ… TWO rainbows crossing over our ceremony… (cause it drizzled sweetly on the whole thing), and one purpley-red sunset, followed by the sun sinking into a bank of clouds for a totally different looking sunset-aka, 2 SUNSETS… It was seriously one in a MILLION.

I know right??

I gotta keep it real… Nothing else I can add to the list today that means more to me than that single moment in my life.

That being said, there is still some Life Well Lived joy to spread around!

So the illustrious Katy Widrick, who is a wonderful blogger who shares my technophilic heart, blogged about this challenge. I love her blog. It’s a great resource for new bloggers who don’t know how to do the things they want to do for their blogs, and I love that. Lets just say that Katy’s blog is in my “cream of the crop” folder in Google Reader. The HIGHEST echelon of the blogging world, I assure you.

She turned me on to a challenge, that she found via meals&moves, though we’re all at a loss as to who originally started it.

It’s a 30 Day blogging challenge wherein you discuss 30 topics, according to the following list.

I can’t promise that my blogging will be on consecutive days, (though that’s my goal) but I can promise to discuss each of these topics. Some of these, I can go ahead and tell you, I’m going to skim over, or be vague, or puss out or only discuss in general terms, but that’s my prerogative, right?? I can promise that whatever I share will be honest, and that you’ll learn a bit more about me as a person, in the process.

So, to begin, My Current Relationship.

I’ve written in the past about how I met and fell in love with my husband… (read about my brush with love at first sight: here. http://www.kelseytoney.com/2009/02/happy-valentines-day/) but, this is talking about my CURRENT relationship, and I can appreciate the distinction. That my current relationship might be different than the one I started so many years ago.

In a way… it is…

It’s better.

Daron and I were married in 2005, after a 3ish year courtship.

And of course, we have the occasional scuffle about who has the pleasure of feeding our whiney-ass cats… on  the whole, that man is my PARTNER.

It’s so comforting to know that someone will be in your corner EVERYTIME.

Even if what you actually need is someone to tell you that you’re being ENTIRELY dramatic and/or preposterous. (Who me??)

We are total opposites.

We are perfectly congruent.

We’re a literal miss-match of ideals and philosophies. We have contradictory views on dozens of important issues, and agree on an equal number of others. I’m social and gregarious. He’s shy and introverted. The list could LITERALLY go on for pages.

He tortures me with jokes and laughter, and our list of inside jokes and unspoken punch lines is extensive. Just as it should be.

Not perfect. But perfect. If you know what I mean.

Not meaning to gush, but what can I say, I’m in love.

It’s really pretty great to feel that way after about 9 years, now.  It makes me grateful for the patience and acceptance that I’m regularly shown.

ANYWAY.

The rest of the challenge won’t be so mushy… or maybe it will be. But I hope you’ll enjoy reading it.

xoxo

Question: What’s the longest relationship you’ve encountered in your life? Parents? Grandparents?

Things keep happening…

April 25, 2010

I may not tell you about it… but things definitely keep happening. :D

This post may be a little bullet pointy… but, it’s what I’ve got for ya. :)

  1. I submitted an audition video for GLEE’s open casting call.

If you have a myspace log in, and a few minutes, please go here, and leave me some stars! There is no limit to how many you can leave. :D

Please go have a listen. :D Here is the voting link: My Glee AUDITION

2. I’ve been making a LOT of Vlogs lately. Vlogs are video blogs, and I’ve been having a ton of fun with them lately. You can visit my youtube page to see all of them, but I’ll post a couple of them here for you, too. :D

3. The rehearsals for the musical are going extremely well! I’ve been working hard, dancing, memorizing, and trying desperately to do a great job. :D

This is one of my favorite songs… no, probably my SINGLE favorite song from the show, called Love is my Legs, and it is HILARIOUS! Mandy, who is playing Muriel in our production filmed us practicing it, and posted it. I thought I’d share it here too. :D

4. We performed at the Denton Arts and Jazz festival yesterday, and it was a very… interesting experience! Lots of fun people watching… I did not perform my best, and was a little disappointed, but I honestly did the best I could, and just tried to survive it. :-\

Lots of my friends, and co-workers showed up, so it was great to see them.

I also got to meet lots of the people who are special to my new friends and castmates, which was super fun. :D

5. Daron competed this weekend in the Flower Mound Open! He and his partner, Jimmy took 1st place!! He made several videos and vlogs, and I’m sure he’d love it if you went over to his site, Tennis and Tunes, and checked them out. :D CLICK, CLICK, CLICK, CLICK!!

115/365: My boo! Tennis CHAMP!

6. I updated my 365 photo project! So far, I’ve only totally dropped the ball, and not photographed ANYTHING 6 times, out of 115 days! So, that’s pretty good!

Please visit my flickr stream, here: to see all of the new photos…

I think that’s enough content for tonight.

xoxo.

Back to work (sorta)…

June 14, 2009

Well, tomorrow, I go back to “work” tomorrow. I’m not mad about it, actually, I’m pretty excited. I know that I’ll have the opportunity to learn a lot, and I know that it won’t be that bad.

See, tomorrow, I start my summer internship. In order for me to graduate in August, I have to log a bunch of hours of field experience. While it is a little bit backwards (because I already have 3 years of teaching experience under my belt), it is still part of the process. So, tomorrow, I’ll go in and assist a teacher, as she prepares for summer school which starts on Tuesday.

It will be kinda cool to be an assistant, because I’ve never been in that role in the classroom before. I just hope that I can be helpful.

In other news, time is REALLY flying towards Spain… I’m working to get my to do list fully fleshed out, but there are so many different facets of that to do list, I keep getting distracted. :)

There are a bunch of lists, but they fall into specific categories…

  • Packing stuff
  • Conference stuff
  • Itinerary stuff
  • Traumatic Brain Injury Class stuff
  • Internship stuff
  • Before-I-leave stuff
  • Money stuff
  • Fitness stuff (10k RACE IS ON JULY 4!!)

Basically, I just want to get it all done in time. I’m sure I will, but I definitely will be summoning my very best organizational skills to manage it all!

One more thing, I was going through the “tennis day” pictures from my 20 lbs progress picture post, and I found one I meant to share with you. I should explain and disclaim that I am not a tennis player… my sweet husband is, but I merely go to try my best. :) With that in mind, d always tries to teach me tennis skills, and while I’ve improved a lot, there are still areas that I am painfully bad at… Case in point, this sweet shot was captured when I attempted a serve… badly.

Please note where I’m looking, where my racquet is and where the ball is. No bueno. hehe.

Anyway, we had fun… Have a great Monday, everybody. :)

the hurdle…

November 24, 2008

(15/30)

well… If you’ve been reading closely, you can probably count at least a half a dozen times that I’ve mentioned, “I didn’t want to work out”, “I REALLY didn’t want to work out”, “I really, really, really didn’t want to work out”…

Well, tonight, I almost didn’t. I mean, I really almost didn’t… I had a bad urge to puke, and I really tried to convince myself that it would be okay to miss just one day. It is after all, just one day! I turned to Daron, hoping he’d say, “aww, darling… you don’t feel well. And it is just one day.”

But that is not my Daron… :)

He proceeded (as usual) to tell me exactly what I didn’t want to-but desperately needed to- hear.

That I made a commitment, that I set a goal, and most importantly that I could do it. He explained the difference between saying I’d work out for 30 days straight, and saying I’d work out 30 times in 31 days… My promise to myself has to be paramount. I have to make good on my word.

Instead of spewing some crap about why lowering the bar is better, I get to write about how I jumped my half way through hurdle.

So, I worked out… and not-so-surprisingly, I didn’t puke.
