Stories…

November 22, 2008

(13/30)

I’ll get the boring stuff out of the way. :D I’ve lost just about 7 lbs. in 13 days. That’s pretty sweet. :D Today, I really, really didn’t want to workout, but in the end I did. I’m surprised at how hard level 2 is. It makes me realize how EASY level 1 must have been, and also highlights pieces of level 1 that I probably didn’t “give my all” to complete- simply because the move didn’t require me to. So, anyway, workouts are going well. :D

Now onto my thoughts for tonight.

Stories…
I. Love. Stories.

Not only do I love books, but I love, love, love sagas. Not only book stories though. I also get into TV shows that have big story arcs too. I’m like an old lady watching soap operas… watching/reading my stories. Aside from my random obsession with Days of Our Lives during the summer after 7th grade, and the equally random compulsive watching-of-every-dawson’s-creek-episode shenanigans that happened during my first summer off as a teacher, I can’t say that I like soaps. But I do love a good, long, multi-chaptered, or even better–multi volumed story.

I saw twilight again tonight, and I just loved it. I loved it because I love the story. While I do think that the movie was good, and I probably would have enjoyed it in its own right, I know that a big part of why I love it is because it is a piece of a big picture.

I love when Daron asks me questions about a Harry Potter movie, because there is a tiny plot hole… and I love that it usually ends up taking me 15 minutes to explain that tiny little spot, because these creators have generated such a rich and cohesive world for me to live in for a while…

Stories have become a huge passion of mine in my early 20s and it is one of my greatest sources of peace and relaxation.

Here are some of the stories I currently love:

Books

Harry Potter (Series)

Twilight (Series)

Cirque Du Freak (Series)

Marked (Series)

Dead until Dark (Series)

Television/Film

Harry Potter (Movie Series)

Twilight (Movie)

True Blood (Television Series)

The Big Bang Theory (Television Series)

Star Wars (Movie Series)

The Office (Television Series)

Grey’s Anatomy (Television Series)

holy shmoly!

Well… Level 2 is a BEAST! my legs and arms are all tired again. And here I was feeling tough for mastering level 1! :D

Well, anyway, I had a great day, and of course tomorrow is TWILIGHT with Jess for her Bday, so I can’t wait for that.

But for now, I’m super sleepy, so I am off to bed. :) goodnight. :D

Happy Level 1 to ME!!

(10/30)

Today marked day 10 on the 30 day Shred, meaning I’ve completed level 1!! So far, I’ve seen a big improvement in my endurance, and believe it or not, I’ve lost 6.8 lbs!!

I stayed home today, and got a little bit of work done finishing up this semester, which is great. I can’t believe I’ll be graduating in August! :D

Last weekend, I convinced Daron to let me get the tree out… it isn’t decorated yet, but, I’m going to try and rope him into it this weekend. :D Last year, my friend Jessica bailed me out of an emotional funk and helped me decorate at the last minute. This year, I’m making up for time lost last year, by getting my tree up early! I’ve always been a “day-after-thanksgiving” decorator, but I want all the christmas I’ve got coming to me this year. :D

In other fun news, TWILIGHT comes out on FRIDAY!!!! I can’t wait! I know it is dumb, but I’m so excited. While, I’m quickly joining the “Sookie Stackhouse/TrueBlood” books are better fanclub, Twilight will always hold a special place in my heart, and I can’t wait to go. I wish I could see it with my lola, but alas… I’m holding out for HBP. :D

That is as good an update as any, but now, it is sleepy time. Goodnight!

PS. Hi Mom! love you!

3/30

Well, hmmm, how about that.

Today, I REALLY, REALLY did not want to work out…

I had a pretty tough day at work, pretty emotionally drained, AND I had class tonight. Which is fine, but is surprisingly NOT the same as chilling, cozy on the couch.

So, I came home, and… well… I worked out.

Not only did I work out, but much to my surprise, many of the moves were easier, and I’ll be dipped (Texan phrase), if I didn’t get through SO much more than I expected to, or than I did yesterday or the day before.

I’m glad I pushed through, and I’m glad I didn’t quit. :D

30 days of change…

November 10, 2008

(1/30)

Well, tonight, thanks in GREAT part to Christina Warren I have revamped my site! All that is left to do, is to change my former “images” page, to something new… I think I’ll use it to post information related to effectively teaching students with behavioral or emotional difficulties. ANYWAY…

Today marks day 1/30 of 30 days of change for me.
1. I am going to write a blog post everyday… (even if it is miniscule, it will be written)
2. I started the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred workout plan tonight… and that is on like donkey kong
3. I am going to be mindful and careful with my eating habits, and take care of my body… cause, lets face it, I’m not a kid anymore.

You’ll be seeing much more of me in the coming days. Brace yourself… (and subscribe!) :)
